Customer Service Nightmare: Trapped in a Bot-Fueled Loop 😠
I’m writing this as a warning about my terrible online shopping experience. I simply wanted to make a small change to my order moments after placing it, but the process was a nightmare. This is my conclusion: Worst customer service ever. I ordered a pair of sunglasses then realized I forgot to ask for polarized lenses. I tried to go to customer service to change this one detail in my order and they made it impossible. First I did a live chat with a bot who told me to call a number. Then I called the number to inquire about my order and they told me to go online and check the status… They shipped the order faster than a human being could get in touch with me to make changes to my order. It’s as if they are quick to make a sale but not willing to help. This infuriating loop forced me to finally track down a live person, and here is how that conversation went.
Customer: I've been trying to reach a human for over a day! I just needed to add polarization to order #11382, but your bots sent me in circles. Now you've shipped it already!
CS Rep: I am very sorry to hear about the frustrating experience you've had. I understand you wanted to add polarized lenses and I see the order has indeed been dispatched.
Customer: It's unbelievable. Your system makes it impossible to fix a simple error. You ship it before anyone can even respond to an email. What am I supposed to do now?
CS Rep: I understand your frustration completely. Since the item is in transit, we can't alter it. However, once you receive it, you can return it for free. We can immediately process an exchange for the correct polarized pair for you.
Customer: So I have to wait for the wrong pair, mail it back, and then wait again for the right one? This is a huge waste of my time.
